So, this is still going to be short even though I need to do a lot of catching up!
On the 27th of August Rusty and I went to Oklahoma to see Randy, Dawn, Eli, Uncle Rob, Charlotte, Kate, Gene, Jeannie, Dad and Les. Ugh..............that was a lot of running around and trying to please, which seemed impossible. Anyway, we also held the Fantasy Football Draft that weekend. We had a great time seeing Eli and he is getting so big! I can't believe it! He is such a great baby. Only cried twice that I know of and that was in 4 days that we were there! He went to the pool house a little too early each night for Rusty and I (8:45), especially since we have no idea when we will get to see him again. I know Rusty loved having him sleep on his chest in the recliner! I have some great pictures to post and I can't believe the look on Rusty's face as he held Eli. So, so happy to be there with him.
Dad and Les had a cake for me and I spent Friday night with them. We never stay there when we go down and I am sure they would love for us to. I didn't like not being with my husband but you do what you gotta do. We probably won't be making it back down for a long time so we tried to get good visiting in! I took lots of cute pics of Eli and lots of Winsett Family pics. I will do a post of just pics later this week.
Today we are celebrating our seventh anniversary. I wasn't planning on doing anything for our anniversary since we purchased a home this summer but a great deal came up. I planned it all and Rusty had no idea where we were going. We went to Red River, New Mexico and it is beautiful! Another surprise was that we met our good friends from Oklahoma there (Allen and Tammy)! We had so much fun and thanks to them we got to rent a house for $50 bucks a night!! We also rented a Jeep for the day and went "jeeping". Allen made that word up for us.
We had such a good time and enjoyed using the fire pit on the front balcony and roasting marshmallows. *Note to self: start using your damn fire pit you have had for two years!! Rusty was so surprised when the people we were meeting with to pay for the house and get the key were Allen and Tammy. I can't believe I pulled it all off. On the trip we also found our 300th geo-cache!! It was a great one that was difficult and I am happy to report that I am the one who found it. We just started geo-caching last November so 300 in less than a year is awesome! Allen and Tammy also enjoyed finding a couple in New Mexico. Rusty and I hit three different states in one weekend......Kansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. Could have done four since we went through Colorado but were just ready to get home. If we were really anal about it we could have gotten five states and ran into Texas too! LOL
Here's a pic near where our 300th geo-cache was located. You can't tell but this was a heckuva hike up there!
Regardless, we are home and glad to be. I will post more pictures later!
Here's to great friends, great vacations, and seven years of great, great marriage! It is so nice to have been married for that long already and to feel like our lives together have just truly begun.
Sounds awesome Tara! I'm glad you had so much fun!
