My {almost} Seven Month Old!

Wow, where has time gone.  I can't believe my baby is going to be seven months old in less than a week.  So much has happened.  He's saying single syllable words (mom, dad, dog, cat, cup, bite, hi, bye), 3/4 potty-trained and can walk a few steps before tumbling back onto his precious booty.

Ha.....

Ha.....

It hasn't been THAT long!  :o)  Just wanted to ruffle some feathers.

A lot HAS happened.  He was started on cereal at 4 months due to being in the 13th percentile for weight.  At his 6 month visit (three weeks ago!) he weighed 16 pounds 3 ounces and was over 26 inches long.  He is far from a "Buddha Baby" as my pediatrician called it and reassured us that it was totally okay.  Since six months we have eaten Green Beans, Peas, Sweet Potatoes, Squash, Carrots, Peaches and Bananas.  He has liked  everything BUT the Sweet Potatoes were constipating so he can't have those anymore.  Daddy told him they were better with butter and brown sugar anyway.  Yes, I got on to him for it!

Ryne's a rolling machine and has been for a while.  He shows no interest whatsoever in crawling.  He would much rather just go right to standing up.  Right at his 6 month birthday he began sitting up independently.

He still just wants to be "up" and standing.  Nothing in between!  We get to go see a dermatologist this Month for his face.  He has what, to me, looks like acne.  He gets pustules and it just stays inflamed.  At our last visit they popped one and cultured it but it came back with no growth, which is good.  We are worried it's going to scar. One side is mostly cleared up but the left side just constantly stays inflamed.  It's been like this since he was 3 months old and I want it GONE!  I had been editing his pictures and taking it out because it's just so red and noticeable but I'm done with that.  He is beautiful no matter what but the redness bothers me.  I shouldn't let it, but it does.

Every Monday we go see his Gramma (my mother) and have lunch with her.  Then once a week Grammie and PawPaw (Rusty's dad and step-mom) get to watch him for a bit and bond.  He is loving his grandparents!!  We also attend a library about 30 minutes away for Lapsit Time.  It lasts 30 minutes but then we check out books and play.  He loves being around other children and the "Parachute Song" is his absolute favorite!

Once a week we have lunch with either former students or a former fellow teacher.  It's either Brooke and Dana (as was today, picture below), Mrs. Hannah or my former teacher friend Tammy.  We get out so much that even though I'm staying home I'm always tired and never feel like I'm home!

I got in trouble at our 6 month appointment for feeding Ryne once in the middle of the night.  So, it took ONE night of letting him fuss and daddy being the one to console him before our little toot SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!  He sleeps from about 6:30 to 7:30 or even 9:00 the next morning if daddy doesn't wake him up while getting ready for work.  Now if I can just tell myself to go to bed before 11 that would be great!  He is a good napper unless we are out and about too much because he doesn't get a good amount of time undisturbed but we have slowed down our going.  It's just TOO much!  This last weekend was rough with lots of birthdays, family in town and Rusty being sick.  We get to have a date night tonight and I am excited.  Canton's Chinese and a movie for momma and daddy (along with some shopping at VS and other places) and some Gramma and Gramps time for Ryne.

Here he is enjoying a ride in the buggy (shopping cart for you northerners).

Taking a stroll down to the barn with Marley and Keiko.  The weather here has been gorgeous.  I think it was 77 this day (a couple of days ago).

Chillin' in the bathtub.  He loves to play with his "turtle" in the tub.  That would be where his hand is now. :o)

Having lunch with Daddy while he was running to pick up equipment in Moore.  We met him there for lunch and did a little bit of shopping.

Here is a Christmas picture.  He had the most adorable outfit that his Nana Les bought him from Gymboree.  I LOVE their clothes!

Ryne also had his six month pictures taken.  After some problems with camera batteries and also a VERY cold studio, we did manage to get a few cute ones!  YES, unedited so they show his rosy cheeks with the bumps.  Can't wait to get to the dermatologist!
