We have six more days until our ultrasound. Something that seemed like it would never get here is almost here! I remember thinking January 19th wouldn't get here for our very first appointment and look......it's already over two months later.
Things have been great. This baby is definitely going to be a traveler. We have made numerous trips to Salina and several trips to Oklahoma. Seems like we go, go, go so no wonder I'm extra exhausted. I have much more movement and even got Doodlebug to play with me today a little. I'd push on him/her and he/she would push back. I am most definitely looking forward to more of that. I'm still bouncing between a weight gain of 3-5 pounds depending on the day. Not too shabby for almost 20 weeks and my first (only?) pregnancy! I was afraid I'd be one of those that just ballooned up their first time because they ate what they wanted when they wanted with no control. Slight heartburn has been a pain in the butt. I just don't eat the right stuff though. It's nothing like my heartburn I experienced before pregnancy so I'll gladly take it.
I have belly pics but I'm scared to post one. I don't think I should be this big but I can't suck it in anymore and with little weight gain I shouldn't worry but geesh! I was a little bigger to begin with but thankfully I've kept my weight gain at bay. I know the next 20 weeks will be a different story but I have a set amount I'm allowed to gain and I've got to try my hardest to stick to it.
Um.....5 more days now. I had to take a break on the blog. Yesterday I could tell I was getting sick with a stuffy nose/sore throat but last night I ended up with body aches and a worse sore throat. The night was horrible and I woke up with a fever. I cancelled my physical therapy but forged ahead with getting ready for work. I even got my pants ironed and ready to put on and I just had no more energy to give. I decided not to share my sickness and stayed home. I slept in bed until 12:15 then came in and sat in front of the TV for the afternoon and slept off and on. This afternoon I still had a slight temperature and feel like it's coming back now but I do feel better. Not great, but better. My hubby was a trooper when he got home this afternoon and ran and got me some medicine and food.
So, that's all for now. Ready to feel better and get to Monday!!!!!!

*Sigh* (In A Good Way)
I sure hope those reading my blog love me. That way I know you won't get tired of reading about this but I still am in amazement every time I think about the baby. I look at Rusty several times a day and say "I have a baby growing inside of me." It's like I have to tell myself over and over because it is just so unknown and unreal. Um, I saw him/her kicking! How can it be unreal? This experience is something that has been so unbelievable so far and I know it is only going to get even more amazing. I have felt little "pops" but they aren't felt every day. And, no, it's not gas! LOL I know the difference. I am most definitely looking forward to more movement and more definite movements.
We have our crib and glider rocker all set up. Early, maybe, but we don't care! Dad and Les have ordered our changing table as a gift for us and it will be delivered soon. I sit in the glider rocker and fill out my "belly book" and this week will start sitting in there and reading to the baby. Once we find out the sex, we will get to pick out bedding! We have our boy picked out, as well as the name, but the girl is so much harder. I think I am convinced it's a boy and let me tell you...a boy has already been easier! I know little girls are more difficult all the way around already! LOL We can't decide on bedding or names! To me, it seems like all the girl bedding is so "busy". I tend to prefer simple.
So, I've probably already shared more than I'd like but I am just so excited. And no one is going to change that!
Think I'll get off of here and work on my blanket I'm crocheting for the baby. Of course, it's a neutral color but I'll probably add a color specific edging once we find out. We'll see! Oh boy..........or girl!

Amazing!!!
This weekend we made a VERY quick trip to Oklahoma for my dad's 60th birthday and also some other things. One of those other things that I'm ready to share about at the moment is that we got an ultrasound from a friend while we were there. Yes, for some it may not be such a big deal anymore since they have kids but for us it was completely amazing. The baby is so active. He/She was just a kicking and punching and then even "waving" and giving us the "thumbs up". According to her measurements, I'm a week ahead of the due date originally given but then again, it could just be a big baby! Healthy, spine looks good, placenta placed good, umbilical cord healthy..........all that matters is it's healthy. This time the heartbeat was 152 bpm. Of course the ultrasound pictures never do justice and I didn't find out until later that my friend wouldn't have minded if we recorded it on video. I know for next time. We do have a prediction of the sex but it was not evident enough for us yet. We'll wait for our next one! We are super excited either way. I'd love for Rusty to have a daddy's little girl but then I'd like for him to have that boy he can go fishing with and camping with. We will be thrilled no matter what.
So, I leave you with this........

Still Don't Feel Like It?!?
Even at almost 15 weeks I had another "I just don't feel pregnant" days. Yes, I'm tired but to me that's not a big deal. Maybe I'm so used to not ever really feeling "good" that I just think "another day".
We had a nice snow today. It got cold again but it is still February. Looking forward to the warm up we are going to get again next week! Not much else..........just waiting for that baby to move and for our 20 week ultrasound!! Maybe that will make it feel REAL!

14 Weeks
So, yup, I finally got over the fear of announcing our exciting news. I still feel like I should have waited but I'm out of the first trimester so that's a big accomplishment. Plus, as Rusty said, what was I waiting for?
I won't bore you with weekly updates and a week by week replay of the first thirteen weeks. I'm not that into myself and assume everyone wants to know. If they do, they can e-mail me! Not everyone that reads this truly cares anyway. They're just being nosy. Another reason it took a while to reveal. But, here's some information for those family members and friends who truly honestly care........
The first 13 weeks were wonderful!! No puking, no gagging, no weight gain (actual loss of 1.8 pounds), no mood swings, no cravings, really nothing. Maybe that is why I was so worried throughout the whole ordeal. We first heard the heartbeat at our appointment on 1/19/11 at 160 bpm and that in itself was such a relief. BUT, I had 3 more weeks to go to be in the "safer" zone. My clothes stopped fitting around week 10 and I have no idea why. With all the back pain I had I am assuming that everything started shifting extra early on me. My pants didn't fit yet I hadn't gained any weight. So, I'm going with the shifting around aspect. I will remain in physical therapy (just getting therapeutic massage) throughout most of my pregnancy to try and keep from going on bed rest too soon, if not at all.
Week 14 that I just finished up was a little rougher. I think the lack of rest and sleep over the last couple of weeks got me down. I am still exhausted, but I am just going to blame that on the pregnancy and get used to it. I have finally started giving in to my sleepiness and not fighting it. If I fall asleep in my chair at 8:30 so what! I know sleep will be a memory soon enough. We did have our second appointment on Valentine's Day and the heartbeat was 153 bpm. I have no inklings or thoughts on boy or girl. Healthy is all I care about!
So, everything has gone wonderful. Other than my own fear and worry, it's been fabulous. My back is better but I'd give anything to sleep on my side. I still can't without feeling like it's going to slip out and into that painful locking up that it does. Thankfully, I have until 24 weeks before I can't sleep on my back anymore. Then it will be the recliner!
Lots and lots of changes ahead for us. 2011 is going to knock our socks off, and many other peoples, in more ways than one. We welcome all there is to come. I am soooo excited!!
