My second injection was done on the 24th of March. I'm a little late blogging about it but that is because the last week has been a doozy!
My second injection didn't go as well as the first. I had more pain after the injection, mostly at the site I think. Since I had both sides done last time, I wonder if that helped me to not realize the amount of pain I had. This time it was only the right side so I had another side to compare it to. I am wondering if that is one reason I noticed the difference. I also had pain in the immediate days following the injection, pain that was like what I normally have. Granted, not very bad, but it wasn't like the first injection. I will say that it has subsided and I am doing fairly well. My only main complaint is that my hips are sore from all the walking I did this last weekend!
I had gone almost two months since the last injection and it was too long. I made sure my doc new this and he said he didn't want to go longer than 2-3 weeks between the second and the third injection. My third, and final, injection will be on April 9th. I am hoping that this third injection will get me by for a long time, as in a couple of years. If not, I will be visiting with a neurosurgeon regarding a procedure called an ALIF (anterior lumbar interbody fusion). The success rate is around 85% which is a great number. The only scary thing is that they go through your belly, move your aorta and superior vena cava and intestines to the side, and then work on the vertebra from the front side. eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww If it would help, I'd do it. I would have to wait a while to build up time from work and probably wait to take off when it would be convenient. If the injections could get me by......

ALIF
There are other articles to look up if you are interested. This is just the best explanation and I am a visual person as much as a literary person.
Ok, that's it. I am pretty pleased with my results. I hope it continues and I'll update again on that around April 9th!
