The Family Circus

It has been brought to my attention that many felt my last post, "The Big Top", was about family.  I will always be a part of the Foley Family Circus.  It's in my genes!!  My dad made sure of it!  LOL

It was NOT about family.  So, I'll write it again so it can be read keeping that in mind.  Let me use one word differently.

The clowns gathered, and I, my friend, am glad I am no longer a part of that circus.

Had a short but nice weekend with family.  Looking forward to a couple months at home now.

Peaceful

My title, that's how I feel.  I am rested, relaxed, happy......I won't go on.

Today was a great day at work as I actually got to do some "work".  We had Curt and Staci over for supper and enjoyed an evening of visiting.  I also had some customers for PQ stop by and do a little shopping.  I am excited to go to supper with our neighbors this week also.  Good friends are far and few between but when you find them you know it.

I have seen people talk bad about others and then turn around and act like they are good friends.  That is two-faced and proves how good of a friend you are not.  Fake it 'til you feel it only goes so far, right Bec? lol
I just don't see how you can apparently strongly dislike someone, talk horrible talk of them, then proceed to "act" like you are friends and hang out.  To each their own.  People live their lives how they choose to.  That's their right!  Just a pet peeve I guess.

So, on a final note here are my wishes for the rest of the week............

I wish for my friend Tina to get results with her dr's appointments!
I wish for my friend Becca to have a great rest of the week and for her heart's desires to be hers!
I wish for the cold that is trying to creep in to go away. Again, thanks Rusty!
I wish for warmer weather!  Don't we all?

Shy and Sensitive

As a little girl I was very shy.  Never did I like to speak up or look anyone straight on.  I never told anyone what I really thought or wanted.  I would just set back and let others speak for me.

As a little girl I was very sensitive.  I remember at a very young age, maybe 7 or 8, sitting in our dining room on 9th street and crying for probably 30-45 minutes because I had broke the little elastic band that held my moms coupon holder closed.  She finally came looking for me and instantly told me that it was okay, I hadn't done anything wrong.  I didn't believe her.

If you ask me what my biggest fear is I will tell you that it is being a disappointment.  Number one to my dad, which has always seemed so easy to do.  Sometimes I feel I will never actually please him or give him a reason to actually be proud of me.  Yes, being a disappointment is my biggest fear.  So when I am faced with a question or a decision head on I say what I think is wanted of me.  I don't say what I truly want to do.  I want to please the other person, I want to NOT be a disappointment to them.  Ask me where I want to eat for dinner, I'll say I don't care.  What do you want?  Ask me what movie we should see?  Same thing.  I am always wanting to please others because I don't want to disappoint them.  A curse I have had since childhood.  And yes, I feel it is a curse.  Put me on the spot and get exactly what you want.

I have promised myself that I will start basing my decisions on what I truly feel in my heart, not on what I think others want of me.  There are so many times I have said yes or shook my head up and down as I hesitated inside knowing I had just agreed to something that I really didn't think was a good idea or just flat out did not want to do.  No more.........or at least I am going to try.
If I disappoint you  it better be for a damn good reason, otherwise I'm living this life for me and mine and it's not going to matter.  There is a magic number in my life and it is the number four.  Rusty, myself, Marley and Keiko.

That's my family and their happiness is what is important to me. And from today forward, my happiness too.

Mustard In The Carpet

My baby boy is sick! No, not Keiko, but Rusty.  We have already both had the flu that lasted a little more than a week and now he has a head cold.  Please, Please, Please don't give it to me!  I am hoping he can finally get some good rest and get better.

This evening it is nice and quiet.  Marley sleeping next to me, Keiko laying on the back of the couch. RELAXED. It is very nice.  Today for lunch Sadie jumped onto my plate of food and slid through the mustard then proceeded to jump on the recliner and down into the floor....with mustard on her feet.  *sigh* This afternoon when I got home from work it was nice to see Marley and Keiko playing together again.  They are happy and at ease.  We are too.

Unfortunately I have gotten into Survivor this season.  Becca, we can watch it "together"!!  I always liked Boston Rob so we watched it because of that.  Then, I got back into The Amazing Race because Jordan and hottie Jeff are on from Big Brother.  I am also enjoying Undercover Boss.  Good thing it's cold out so I can not feel too bad for watching some TV.

I definitely need to practice my violin more as the last 2 weeks at work have taken precedence.  I have 4 independent study courses to complete now.  I have finished one in a little over a week, the smallest book of the four.  I was excited today to start "working" on my actual book of business.  It was very enjoyable.

Looking forward to the weekend. Shutter Island comes out this weekend and Rusty has been wanting to see it.  I got 2 free movie tickets and snoball coupons for passing my exam, along with the raise, so I am taking Rusty to Shutter Island this weekend.  I also have a PQ party.  It will be my first party with the new catalog.  There are some AWESOME new things in it!  I also got $175 free merchandise for my sales in December so I am looking forward to getting some of the new stuff for free!

I reckon that's about all I have tonight.  I'm going to enjoy the peaceful evening.
