For Papa Gene

So we began our journey....

Rusty and I started from Hays, Kansas and ended up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for his step-brothers wedding. Of course we started by geo-caching across the top several counties of Kansas. Let me start by saying this because at the moment I am still currently aggravated about it and you will see at the end of the post.......it has rained on us ever since about an hour after we left home AND HAS NOT STOPPED. It has some but we were sleeping and didn't get to witness it. I don't mind rain but with over 20 hours of it being while driving it tends to make me a little pissy. Plus a few other things............oh well.

This is in Kansas and is called Munchkinland. It is a playground for "munchkins".

Toto!

Here's our travel bug we picked up out of a geo-cache in Kansas to help keep an eye on the GPS.

Stopped to pick up a couple of games to keep us busy on our long trip. Here we are playing "20 Questions". Rusty just knew he had it beat several times but that thing is amazing! A little creepy too!

Here we are at the re-creation of Walt Disney's barn as a child. It is located on the Disney Farm in Missouri. They encouraged people to sign inside the building so we took part.

My "masterpiece."

This is us with the Missouri Cache Across America. Each state has one and it is one of the many geo-caching "challenges" that you can take part in. Yes folks, it was raining here too.

My baby.

US Bank guy was kinda starting to creep Rusty out!

Mosoleum (sp?) in Sprinfield, Illinois where Lincoln's tomb is located.

Here is Lincoln's tomb. Unfortunately it wasy way dark because, yes, it was STILL raining. And, the museum and everything had already closed. Major :o(

Tomb again.

Not snow....RAIN. Did I mention the rain??

Another nice picture other than being dark.

Me driving IN THE RAIN. People, I don't drive in the rain. I hydroplaned once and I guess it has left me traumatized. Being in a car traveling while it's raining makes me nervous, tense, and very uneasy. I kind of "freak" out if I think the car is sliding the tiniest bit.

Trying to put on a smile!

Neat bridge. Rusty is a fan of these bridges.

Again.

Indiana is covered bridge country! This one was apparently haunted.

We had the ghost take this pic for us.

My baby and me....not so cranky yet. He was getting there though.

Ghost wouldn't get out of the way of this one.

Pretty!

Indianapolis Colts stadium. Rusty was gonna call Peyton and have him meet us for lunch but it was STILL raining and we were wanting to get to our destination. Note: Indiana is WAY prettier to drive through than Illinois!

This is a self portrait. I was cranky, as was Rusty, which makes me cranky. We went through West Virginia and Pennsylvania in the dark but I am guessing it was pretty. We'll never know about that route............

Was going to travel to Pittsburgh today............only about 45 minutes away but just found out we don't have time. Gotta be here to have lunch and then the rehearsal and then rehearsal dinner. Maybe next year????
