Welp, here I went and let a lot of things happen in between blogs. I'm sure I'll forget something but.......
First off, I have come to the realization that I am one of the "Gonna" moms. I'm "gonna" do this and I'm "gonna" do that. So, first things first I went out and bought a small journal to put on my nightstand. I should have started long ago but each evening I write a small note to Ryne about something that happened that day. I wanted to do that before he was born but the carpel tunnel kept that from happening. I still can't write much without my handwriting going to shit. So, I have decided I am going to work on being the mom that "Does" and not the mom that is "Gonna".
Mother's day came and went. It was my first "real" mother's day. Rusty and Ryne treated me to my favorite Mexican restaurant in Chickasha (Eduardo's) and we got to have my favorite waitress (and student from 8th grade) Hannah. I also got a card and a pair of OKC Thunder pajama pants. I have a tradition that started last year of getting a Willow Tree figurine each mother's day but we haven't gotten it yet. I imagine it's gonna be one of those things where I pick it up. :o) Next year I'll send him the one I want in e-mail and he can order it! I also got the "MOM" mylar balloon from Wal-Mart that Ryne loves. He loves mylar balloons. I have decided that on his first birthday he will wake up to his room filled with those; and all subsequent birthdays will have the same.
I attended what will probably be my last Chickasha High School graduation on the 18th. Three special girls I taught in 8th grade graduated this year. This graduating class was my last one I taught for a full year. Here is a picture of me and my beautiful Hannah.
Ryne gets to where ever he wants now, and quickly. I use a Swiffer Sweeper Vacuum on our floors and he follows that thing like crazy! Here he is hoping for a game of Peek-A-Boo. Gosh I love this toot!
I had my surgery a week ago today. I'm afraid the incisions aren't healing quite like they should but we'll see. I have done fairly well but have probably over done it quite a bit. Super thankful for Grammy for helping take care of me and of Ryne. My weight restriction of 10 pounds has another week to go and I didn't make it 2 days. I'm trying to be careful though. I do feel a ton better as in the gallbladder attacks. I can't believe I ever thought that was heartburn. I'd take heartburn 24 hours a day compared to gallbladder attacks.
This past weekend was wonderful. Friday evening I honestly can't say what we did but (oh, Rusty went and mowed our 16 family plots at the cemetery). Saturday we made a trip to the grocery store then came home and planted flowers. I have done quite a bit of Pinterest projects (I'm in love with it) and this was one idea and then a spin off. My flowers were clearanced and need a little TLC but they are getting there. I'm loving this old cauldron that Rusty dug up on the farm. It even rocks back and forth if the wind is good enough. We upcycled the cinder blocks from the old water well house and that's why they had to be painted. They were pretty rough looking!
That big concrete pad this is sitting on is our shelter. It's a concrete shelter with electricity. I'm so thankful we have it. It's nice and big! Thinking we'll be putting a futon bed or something down there. The pictures above are with my new phone and I am so glad it takes good pictures! I wanted the iPhone but the camera was only a 5 megapixel and I use my phone for my "Daily Ryne" pictures I send to family so this phone has an 8 megapixel camera and it was about $250 cheaper!
What was going to be just a visit from my mother yesterday turned into a great family gathering of my mother, step-dad, step-sister, her friend - Sandra, my brother, sister-in-law and nephew. We cooked out hot dogs and sat outside and visited. It was soooo nice and relaxing. Last night after everyone had left Ryne woke up from his nap. We went in and he was sitting up in his crib. I swear things change over night. So, today we will be lowering his crib again!! Last night we ate supper in bed while we watched the OKC Thunder game. So close! Hoping for a win tomorrow night. I had such a wonderful weekend. I needed it!
This morning we let Ryne sit with us while we ate our home made baked donuts. There were some without toppings on them so I cut off a piece and put it on Ryne's tray. Well, that little toot picked up his "donut" (biscuit) and tore off a piece with his two front teeth and ate it. HALLELUJAH!! The kid FINALLY not only picked something up but put it in his mouth and ate it!! It gave me tears in my eyes. Silly maybe but my little boy was eating like a big boy! He ate his whole piece of biscuit. Then at lunch he had hamburger bun with momma. Now I get to start changing my eating habits since he is finally starting to eat "off of our plates". Honestly, I'm looking forward to it. When I do eat healthy stuff I wonder why I don't because I love it so much. Broccoli, carrots, celery, cauliflower, spinach and so forth. LOVE it all! Then, after breakfast, we ALL napped until 12:30. Perfect holiday!!
Well, I guess I could ramble and ramble but I won't. I think I heard my little bug just a minute ago.
Oh, one more picture. Today we went and took my Papaw and Ryne's big brother Benny pinwheel's for their gravesides. Here is Ryne sitting with Benny.
He would have loved Benny and Benny would have surely loved him. If only our fur babies could be with us longer.
